Gina & Nikos

During last Autumn, when our beloved partner and friend Nikos asked us to capture the wedding proposal to his girlfriend Gina we couldn’t think of a more romantic scenery than the old castle on the rocky peninsula of Acronauplia, upon the historic town of Nafplio in Peloponnese.

Nafplio is one of the most beautiful towns in Greece expanded up the hillsides near the north end of the Argolic Golf. According to mythology it was build by Nauplius, the son of Poseidon and Amymone. The town was the capital of the First Hellenic Republic, from the start of the Greek Revolution in 1823 until 1834. Wandering along the picturesque alleys, among the old traditional-style colourful houses, influenced by the Venetians, is a charming experience for a couple of lovebirds!

So we arranged a casual weekend as couples to the beautiful province town. For our staying we chose a beautifully renovated mansion. The warm and modernly decorated Gambello luxury rooms in the old town.

After 24 hours of relaxed walks and rich flavored meals we “spontaneously” decided to visit the castle and take a walk among the wild nature of the peninsula with the breathtaking view over the harbor. It was only then that Nikos pulled out of his pocket a Leica lens cover (!) and opened it, revealing a wonderful diamond engagement ring! After a small pause Gina realized what was happening and she just couldn’t stop smiling and hagging her fiance! Nikos opened up a bottle of Martini Asti Spumante and we celebrated the news overlooking the Argolic Golf and Bourtzi Castle!

We stayed there until the sun went down with the loving couple enjoying an engagement photo session under the sensational light of the golden hour…
